During an off-shore fishing adventure, a group of Texan off-shore fishermen spotted something incredible: the world’s largest fish! Fellow Off-Shore Fisherman Rob DiNoto shares the details:
A group of off-shore fishing enthusiasts were enjoying a deep-sea fishing charter. While fishing six miles off the coast of Port Aransas, Texas, the group noticed something unusual… Two Gulf Magic Fishing members were shocked to see a whale shark during their adventure: a fish considered to be the largest in the world! Whale sharks can grow up to 40 feet long, which is quite the comparison to mackerel and other much smaller marine wildlife. The fishermen explained that this particular whale shark was likely a juvenile, as it was only approximately 25 feet. But “only” is certainly quite the understatement for a marvel whale such as this! Fortunately, the Gulf Magic Fishing crew were able to snap some photos and capture video footage of the shark. To say this will be a fishing session that the group won’t soon forget couldn’t be more true! Although whale sharks are not commonly seen in the American waters, they are typically spotted closer to Belize, Thailand, Australia and Mexico.
